Your photo. Your name. Your proof.
From the camera to the newsroom, ProvSeal records the origin of every image, its retouching and its caption, then signs it with your identity. A photo that can travel without losing its story.
How it works for you.
What ProvSeal records at each step of your workflow.
Shooting
The image is imported to your workstation. If your camera already signs in C2PA, its proof is kept as an ingredient.
c2pa.created · digitalCaptureCaption and credit
Your name, the place, the date. Declared information, bound to the image instead of lost in editable metadata.
author · credit · captionCropping and retouching
Every intervention is declared. Nothing is hidden, and nothing gets lost between two applications.
c2pa.cropped · c2pa.color_adjustmentsSigning
Your identity, or your agency’s, seals the whole. From your workstation, without uploading the image.
c2pa.published · signed locallyWhat ProvSeal changes for photojournalists
What changes, concretely, in your day-to-day work.
- Your credit travels with the image. The author’s name is bound to the file by a signature, not by metadata anyone can erase or rewrite.
- Retouching is owned up to.Declaring a crop or a colour correction strengthens trust instead of weakening it.
- Nothing leaves your computer.Files are signed locally. Useful in the field, with a weak connection or on a sensitive story.
What C2PA does not prove
Transparency is part of the standard. Knowing its limits matters as much as knowing what it can do.
- The truth of what the image shows
- That a human is the author
- Copyright ownership
- Automatic AI detection
Questions
that matter.
Straight answers to the questions we hear most.
My camera already signs in C2PA. Is ProvSeal useful?
Yes. ProvSeal keeps the camera’s proof as an ingredient and adds the next steps: caption, retouching, transmission, with your identity.
Can I sign without a connection?
Yes. Signing happens on the workstation, which suits assignments with limited connectivity.
Will a photo without Content Credentials look suspicious?
No. Their absence says nothing about an image’s authenticity. They add proof; they never take any away.
