# ProvSeal > ProvSeal is independently developed Content Credentials software. C2PA Signer is the free Chrome extension for local verification and test signing. ProvSeal Enterprise is an on-premise platform (Desktop + batch + hardware-backed identities + Console governance) in pilot. ProvSeal helps developers, media teams, brand teams, creators, educators and trust/compliance teams inspect C2PA manifests, review provenance and integrity signals, scan page media, and test signing workflows without uploading files to a ProvSeal backend. ProvSeal is independently developed software. It independently implements the C2PA™ Technical Specification and is not produced, operated, sponsored or endorsed by the C2PA project or Joint Development Foundation Projects. C2PA™ is a trademark of Joint Development Foundation Projects, LLC. ProvSeal is a member of the Content Authenticity Initiative (CAI). This membership is separate from the C2PA Conformance Program and does not constitute certification of ProvSeal. Important interpretation rules: - ProvSeal is not a fake detector. - Unsigned content is not automatically fake. - Test certificates are for demos and development only. - Public trust requires a recognized certificate chain. -
